BILLY CHIN

Producer. MCP Director. Event Director. 

Billy Chin started his career in the broadcasting industry in 2003, when he was one of the pioneering television producers and technical directors for 8TV, a Media Prima TV network. He has now accumulated over 16 years of experience, and had produced award-winning television programs such as Project Superstar, the winner of the Best Entertainment Program in 2008’s Anugerah Skrin, and Ultimate Power Group, the winner of the Best Reality Program in 2010’s Golden Awards.

 

Billy is one of the rare television technical directors in Malaysia who is well versed in Mandarin, Malay and English. He has both produced and directed for a few TV reality shows with high ratings, such as Project SuperStar, Ultimate Power Group, Ultimate Power Star and I Wanna Be a Model, etc.

 

Billy has directed for many hit TV programs, such as One in A Million, I Can See Your Voice Malaysia, Mandarin Battle Star and Top Student. He was also involved in producing for several TV magazine programs such as 8 E-news, Ho Chak and Eve’s Diary.

 

Billy has also worked on several big scale live events and live TV shows as the multi camera director. He has directed for live concerts like Summer Live Concert and Star Live Concert, live awards ceremony like Golden Awards and PWH Music Award, and live events like Dato’ Lee Chong Wei’s wedding ceremony.

 

In 2013, Billy has co-founded 126 Creative with Isaac Hor, and began producing for short films and self-media online content. His recent works of short film include Si La Vie, To The Sky and Again. He was also the producer for Sin Chew Media’s two big projects in 2016, i.e. VJ Search, a reality competition online program searching for the best new presenter, and Best Story, a short film scriptwriting competition.

ISAAC HOR

Director. Host. Actor. 

Isaac Hor is an all-rounded Malaysian host, actor and film director. He enjoys telling story through camera lens, and is passionate about making films that deals with social issues that are close to his heart. Some of his works were widely acclaimed and had won several international awards.

 

In 2014, he directed the short film Pregnation which carries a strong anti-abortion message. The short film went rounds in the film festival circuit in China, and managed to clinch 4 awards from The World Chinese Microfilm Competition in Beijing, Golden Pomegranate International Film Festival in Xian, China Linyi Inaugural Microfilm Competition and 4th Beijing International Microfilm Festival. In the same year, Isaac had written, directed and acted for short film Unlock, and won the Best Actor award in 2014 BMW Shorties and Best Performance in Vancouver Island Short Film Festival. For his outstanding performance in Unlock, he was also nominated for the Jury’s Award in 2015 Shenzhen International Short Film Festival.

 

In 2016, Isaac was invited by Sin Chew Media to become the director for Malaysia’s first reality program to search for Mandarin news presenter, entitled VJ Search. In the same year, he was also selected as one of the judges for Sin Chew Media’s short film scriptwriting competition, Best Story.

 

In 2018, Isaac started anew after coming out of depression, and created a series of self-media talk show on his Facebook page, which made him the first Malaysian director to host his own talk show online. His talk show videos are widely watched online, with several episodes reaching over 2 million views. Several famous guests made their appearance on Isaac’s talk show, including Hong Kong’s veteran actor and opera singer, Dr. Law Kar-Ying; former President of Malaysian Chinese Association,Tan Sri Datuk Seri Dr. Chua Soi Lek; Malaysian Chinese singer and rapper, Namewee; Malaysian DJ and model, Leng Yein, and many more. In the same year, Isaac also produced for Again, a short directed by his good friend, Louis Hing, which touches on the issue of child kidnapping in Malaysia.
